Ruby can't look back. Fractured by an unbearable loss, she and the kids who survived the government's attack on Los Angeles travel north to regroup. With them is a prisoner: Clancy Gray, son of the president, and one of the few people Ruby has encountered with abilities like hers. Only Ruby has any power over him, and just one slip could lead to Clancy wreaking havoc on their minds.

They are armed only with a volatile secret: proof of a government conspiracy to cover up the real cause of IAAN, the disease that has killed most of America's children and left Ruby and others like her with powers the government will kill to keep contained. But internal strife may destroy their only chance to free the "rehabilitation camps" housing thousands of other Psi kids.

Meanwhile, reunited with Liam, the boy she would-and did-sacrifice everything for to keep alive, Ruby must face the painful repercussions of having tampered with his memories of her. She turns to Cole, his older brother, to provide the intense training she knows she will need to take down Gray and the government. But Cole has demons of his own, and one fatal mistake may be the spark that sets the world on fire.

My Thoughts

I NEED someone to talk to about this book and the close of this series. It's enough to make me consider joining the

booktube community. I loved this series up to this book and In The After Light defiantly didn't disappoint me. It is so full of heart gripping action and plot twists you can't not be on the edge of your seat the whole time.

The end to Never Fade and the loss everyone suffered literally ripped my heart out. Then I read the novella Sparks Rise and that ripped my heart out. I forgot to mention to you guys that I read the novella that came before Never Fade, In Time, and that was heart breaking. I was really worried that the ending to the series would be crushing and unsatisfying. While there was some serious heartbreak (not a spoiler...it's Alexandra Bracken. She seems to be an amazing expert at punching you in the feels. You should expect it.), the series came to a very fulfilling and satisfying ending.

This was one of those books and series that I literally put off finishing because I was just so invested and attached emotionally to these characters. I haven't felt like this after finishing a series since Allegiant came out. The Darkest Minds Trilogy will defiantly be included in my favorite all time series. If you haven't read them I diffidently suggest you pick them up and dive in!

If you haven't read my review of the first book, The Darkest Minds, you can read that here.

I have another DIY Project for those awesome thrifted frames! If you missed the Framed Dry Erase Calendar that I did last month click

here

to see it! We've seen the frames with the strings or twine used to create a similar look but I wanted something far more decorative for the empty wall I had in my craft room. Here's how I made it!

A Love Worth Living For | Diy Decorative Framed Bulletin & Photo Board - Do it Yourself Thrifted Framed Inspiration & Vision Board.
A Love Worth Living For | Diy Decorative Framed Bulletin & Photo Board - Do it Yourself Thrifted Framed Inspiration & Vision Board.

This is another one of the huge frames that I picked up from a thrift store. I go to those thrift store associated with rescue missions and they always have tons of huge prints that are usually not that cute. The frames are usually painted weird metal colors but have awesome details. I usually find these huge frames for around $5! Which is awesome. It takes some work to get the print and glass out but I think its worth it. To see how I gut these frames click

here

If you don't want to do all this you could just check your local craft store framing section and get an unfinished frame. They can me pretty inexpensive as well.

I had already used this frame in another project for my old apartment so I had to prime it to cover up the red and then I just applied several thin coats of spray paint and let the frame dry completely between each coat.

While the frame was drying between coats, I worked on the clothes pins. I think this and the lace is what makes this project adorable. I wanted the pins to be super glittery. Because I was using a champagne glitter I went ahead and spray painted the sides of the pin with a champagne spray paint. I ordered tons of glitter and spray paint online from Joann's and Michael's back in October when we were DIYing the wedding.

After the spray paint dried, I took the pins back in and coated one side of them in tacky glue. I was going to use mode lodge for this step because that it what I usually use but decided to give a tackier glue a go.

After coating it I placed them in a glitter tray just dumped a bunch of glitter on top of them. (If you don't have a funnel try like this just use a sheet of paper so you can shake the glitter back into the container.) I DID NOT SHAKE OFF THE EXCESS UNTIL I WAS SURE THAT THE GLUE HAD HAD TIME TO DRY COMPLETELY. I love glittering things. More on that

here

. This is the best technique I have ever found. Using the tacky glue and not shaking off the excess until the glue is dry. I only had to use one coat.

A Love Worth Living For | Diy Decorative Framed Bulletin & Photo Board - Do it Yourself Thrifted Framed Inspiration & Vision Board.
A Love Worth Living For | Diy Decorative Framed Bulletin & Photo Board - Do it Yourself Thrifted Framed Inspiration & Vision Board.

Even though the tacky glue worked super well, I still went ahead and sealed it all in with a coat of Mod Podge. This will keep the glitter from being rubbed off over time and will keep it off of your fingers every time you go to clip something to the board.

A Love Worth Living For | Diy Decorative Framed Bulletin & Photo Board - Do it Yourself Thrifted Framed Inspiration & Vision Board.
A Love Worth Living For | Diy Decorative Framed Bulletin & Photo Board - Do it Yourself Thrifted Framed Inspiration & Vision Board.

By the time I was done with the pins the frame was good and dry. I brought it in and flipped it over so I could stretch out the lace trim across the back. I went ahead and pre-cut all the strips so that I knew how many strands I would have. I ended up using around 4 yards of trim for mine. After I had them laid out so I knew my spacing I began to hot glue them down. I glues all the trim down on one side and after the glue cooled I went to the other side and did the same.

PRO TIP!: Canned air! It scares the crap out of me for some reason...maybe because the can gets so cold...it just freaks me out...am I the only one? Anyways this stuff rocks when hot gluing things! If you flip the can upside down and spray the glue with it, the air that comes out is so cold it like flash freezes the glue. Be super careful when doing it because the air and fluid that comes out is so cold it could burn you. But if you are brave enough to try it does cut down on time.

Once all the pieces of trim were glues down I put some screws in the wall to hang it up!

4 Life Changing Verses for Those Who Feel Forgotten

A Christian looks up from the struggles one day and realizes he doesn't remember the last time he felt the presence of God. He doesn't remember the last thing he heard Him say. He acknowledges that in the busyness of ministry he may have neglected his relationship with the Lord but he is startled by how far away He feels. The distance causes guilt and shame which is used by the enemy to deceive. The Christian feels forgotten.

This feeling comes in many packages. Each unique and each painful.

No one likes to be forgotten. No one likes to feel like everyone's hanging out without them. It hurts when we fill like we're nothing but an afterthought to those we love. Here are four of my favorite scriptures for when I'm feeling forgotten.

Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”, but she knows what she really is: a monster.

When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.

As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

My Thoughts

Alexandra has done it again! This may be one of my top favorite dystopian series.

So in this book Ruby has settled into her new role as member of the Children's League. She is the leader of a group of Psi kids which are kind of our main little group for this book. I was a little upset that the last book basically ended with the scattering of group of kids that Ruby and I loved so much. I was quickly put to ease with the addition of Vida whom I freaking love, (I just want to hug her even though she would

probably kick the crap out of me for trying) and Jude whom is just a sweet heart. I fell in love with his annoying self almost instantly.

As expected the League has a lot of corruption in it. Goals and motives have changed for several agents. At the same time ground breaking advancements are being made in the IAAN and Psi research. Of course Liam grabs the wrong jacket and walks away with top secret IAAN research information. Never Fade follows Ruby and her team as they track down that information.

I loved the pacing of this book. It was action packed and wonderful. I was excited the whole time I was reading it. Like I said I fell in love with the new additions and overall the story was very satisfying. I was that with the way the first book ended I wouldn't feel the satisfaction I felt after reading this but I was wrong.

Oh and of course it wouldn't be an Alexandra Bracken book if it didn't sneak up on you from time to time and punch you square in the feels. But also in Alexandra Bracken fashion, she has created amazing characters who rock at providing comedic relief just in time to maybe save some of your mascara from being washed away by you many tears.

READ THE DARKEST MINDS! IT'S GOLD! (:

The Bloom Mini Premade Scrapbook Album by A Love Worth Living For | Premade album made from In Bloom Paper Stack by My Mind's Eye

Here is my latest mini guys! I found this paper stack called In Bloom by My Mind's Eye in the hot buy section of the craft store. I didn't care much for the papers but the price was so good I though I could use it for cards or something. I decided to make an album out of it instead. I wanted to challenge myself to make a whole album without doing any inking. Which is crazy for me. I just assumed I wouldn't like the album so I figured using a paper stack I wasn't crazy about and didn't spend to much on was the best bet.

I decided to use white paper bags to make this a quick and clean project. I love the way the white looks with these papers! I don't mind the lack of inking at all!

I am thrilled with the look of the covers! I decided to use the grey patterned papers so that when I added some colored layers and flowers and they would really stand out and pop.

I added a nice quote I had from an old stamp set. I stamped it onto a scrap from one of the pages and punched the corners. The colors in it look great against the grey patterns!

I kept the inside very simple! Most of my work is so complicated to put together. I was aiming for quick, clean and simple. The inside cover has a large pocket with another little saying and some more flowers. I died all of the flowers with Dylusions Ink Sprays.

The Darkest Minds - Book Review

When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” She might have survived the mysterious disease that’s killed most of America’s children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.

Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.

When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. Now she’s on the run, desperate to find the one safe haven left for kids like her—East River. She joins a group of kids who escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can’t risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents.

When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living. (official synopsis)

My Rating

5/5!

My Thoughts

I know I am late to hop on this bandwagon but nevertheless I am here so scoot over! I LOVE this book! I am upset that it has been sitting on my to be read shelf for months and I didn't pick it up until now! I have owned Darkest Minds and also Never Fade for awhile. I ordered After Light as well as the two novellas halfway through this book because I knew I was hooked.

So the book follows Ruby. Ruby is living in a world where all the kids just start dying. So as a 9 year old child she is witnessing her class mates and neighborhood kids dropping like flies. Soon something like 92% of the United State's children are dead and the few kids that remain have these strange abilities that start to freak out all the adults, parents and the government. The government starts these terrible camps for the kids and the parents are so freaked out they start shipping them off with a false hope that the government will fix them. Soon the government starts snatching and hunting the kids that managed to dodge getting sent.

Ruby spends six years in one of the biggest and worse camps until one day she is broken out. The books is about her being on the run and the friends she makes and starts traveling with as they hunt for a mysterious safe haven called East River that's supposedly run by the elusive "Slip Kid." Of course there's a boy, Liam, and they fall in love and all that but it's not an annoying romance at all. It's a little abrupt but I wasn't bothered by it at all.

The book is so fast paced. It's great. You really dive in to the world right away. Alexandra Bracken's writing style is amazing. She building an engaging world without just dumping tons of information on you. There is never a dull moment in this book.

The world is awful and sad and pathetic and so many other negative words. You want to shake all the leaders and tell them to leave those babies alone! You also really get into the heads of these kids who are being hunted for abilities they didn't ask for and sometimes can't control. The hatred you see in some of these people is crazy. There are these bounties set for kids that are on the run. They are hunted by government appointed officers as well as regular people that have been driven by fear, ignorance and the destroyed economy to go after these children and trade them in for blood money.

The Characters are awesome and hilarious. I laughed so much at the banter between these characters.

Ruby is just amazing. She has that quality that I love in characters where she is clearly damaged by her circumstances but she still has this strength emanating out of her. She loves ferociously. She'll defend those she cares about unto death. The friends she makes are also captivating. I fell in love with this little group.

I think this book is amazing and highly suggest you give it a read!

Have you read the Darkest Minds? What about the other books in the series? Tell me what you think in the comments below (no spoilers pleeeeeease!?). Also leave me some book suggestions!!

Nevertheless I Live - Cards!!!

Hello all! Happy Sunday!

Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.
Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.

Let's talk birthdays! I find Birthdays to be very exciting! However, I have a terrible habit of forgetting them.  After getting married and getting the new craft room up and operating I have made it my mission to start send out birthday cards to friends and family on their birthdays!

Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.
Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.

I started thinking about it while planning the wedding and sending out well over a hundred hand addressed (and by hand addressed I mean fancy hand lettered) invitations. We don't send cards anymore! Not people under the age of...well lets just say grandmothers. I have never known anyone in my age range (twenty somethings) to send a card. At least none that I have met or seen. We are all about Facebook and texts. Those are awesome but how cool is it to go the mailbox the on your birthday or a day or so before and pull out a card addressed to you and you open it and inside is an awesome (handmade) card?!

That doesn't happen. At least not to me. I want that for those I love though. A wonderful card to say, "Hey. I am thinking about you. I am willing to invest some time and card making resources to show you that you matter to me. I want you to know that the day in which you began to exist is a big deal to me and I am thankful to have you in my life."

Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.
Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.

So I set out to find a cute planner and address book so that I can make this a priority. It is exciting to me that over the years my little address book (which I had to make out of a cute blank journal using some post it tabs for the letter markers! see what I mean?! address books aren't even that easy to find...) will grow and grow and I hope I never get too busy to stop and send some love.

Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.
Nevertheless I Live - Cards! Why I make Birthday Cards for all of my friends and family. Why sending cards is important to me.

I also want to do Christmas cards! Oh and maybe Easter! I also want to send encouragement cards from time to time as well as get well cards and sympathy cards when I know those around are struggling.

In other news...

Lets talk about what I am currently into.

I am currently reading:

Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken which is the second book in the Darkest Minds trilogy. I am loving this trilogy! I know I am behind but I am hooked. Expect reviews soon!

I am currently listening to:

The Dixie Chicks...I don't know why... Also Makin' Plans by Miranda Lambert because 1. I love everything she does and 2. It makes me think of my handsome husband and our future. I love that line where she says, "I'm not easy to understand, but you know me like the back of your hand." I feel you Miranda.

I am currently watching:

Grimm! I am all about Grimm right now! Living week to week to catch that new episode.

Here's a cute photo of Gharrah from this past week. (:

Hope you guys have an awesome week! Make sure to check back this week for more great posts.

What are you guys currently into? How do you feel about getting cards? What about sending them? Let me know below!
