In this dark, high-octane sequel to the New York Times bestsellingDorothy Must Die, Amy Gumm must do everything in her power to kill Dorothy and free Oz.
To make Oz a free land again, Amy Gumm was given a mission: remove the Tin Woodman’s heart, steal the Scarecrow’s brain, take the Lion’s courage, and then Dorothy must die....
But Dorothy still lives. Now the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked has vanished, and mysterious Princess Ozma might be Amy’s only ally. As Amy learns the truth about her mission, she realizes that she’s only just scratched the surface of Oz’s past—and that Kansas, the home she couldn't wait to leave behind, may also be in danger. In a place where the line between good and evil shifts with just a strong gust of wind, who can Amy trust—and who is really Wicked? (Goodreads)

My Thoughts
This series is well on it's way to becoming a favorite for me! I loved the first book and I have rated both five out of five stars. It's just so much fun. These books make me happy and excited. I have completely fallen for Amy Gumm. I love this girl. I love the character development that we are seeing her go through. She is learning to understand and control her magical abilities. She is becoming powerful and I love her. What a combination. She is also an awesome character because of her wit and sassy personality. She is able to insert some comedic relief in stressful and tense scenes.
Her companions are always a fun a time as well. In this book we get more Ozma. I love Ozma. People need to take her more seriously!
I felt that the world development in this book was even better than in the last. In the first book Oz was close to the Oz we all know and love, just add darkness and corruption and a crazy Dorothy. In this book we get to explore parts of Oz that the movie never touched on. Danielle Paige has really broadened Oz in a way that makes sense with the Oz we all know but is beautiful and new and wonderful!
I loved The Wicked Will Rise. I think these are fun books that don't require over thinking or a critical eye. They are just enjoyable. I liked The Wicked Will Rise more that the first. So if you weren't hooked by the first book I would encourage you to press on!

Hey guys! I haven't posted a book related post in a while! That is probably because I haven't been reading as much as usual lately. I did read four books in this past Winter. All four were Christian lit and I enjoyed ALL of them! So today I am going to share four Christian books that you should totally read if you haven't already!
