I've Got New Music Suggestions For You + A Giveaway!

Music is amazing! It changes your mood. It amplifies your emotions. It draws our hearts closer to whatever the song is glorifying. If that's pain, we'll be drawn to worshiping our pain. If the music is about sadness or loneliness (I am guilty of loving a good breakup song...) we will stew in our own sadness. Angry music makes me drive fast. Love songs make me want to take a road trip with my honey. Music is powerful!

Christian music is especially powerful. It's a great way to keep the Lord and positivity on the front of your mind. Music that is filled with praise and worship will help you to remain in an attitude of thankfulness! I challenge you to fill at least 60% of the music you listen to with Christian music and watch and see your attitude improve.

To help you guys out I have some new album suggestions + my friends at Capitol CMG have sent me these CDs to giveaway to a couple of you!

My Favorite Christian Quotes

I love quotes you guys! I have collected them for as long as I can remember. I have a journal from when I was 12 years old that is packed full of embarrassing middle schooler quotes. I have a book of far more mature quotes that I add to regularly ever since I saw A Walk to Remember and Jamie’s mom left that quote book for her when she passed. Then Jamie gave it to Landon when she was ill and then Landon gave it back to the dad later. Gosh. Love that that movie.

Anyway, I have a whole volume packed full of quotes I just love and today I want to share some of my absolute favorite quotes. I set out to share ten but then it grew to fifteen and now were up to twenty. These are just some of my favorites.

Four Tips For Loving Your Physical Touch Love Language Spouse

I love trying to figure out other people Love Languages. I am always trying to figure out how to better speak my husband's languages and how to better incorporate them into friendships. I wrote this post on How To Love You Acts of Service Love Language Spouse based on what I've learned loving my husband.

Today I want to focus on Physical Touch Love Language people. Because I am a Physical Touch myself, I want to share my tips. This has taken me a year to write. I think I find it challenging to talk about this particular language because it is mine and also because touch can have an overly sexualized connotation.  This Love Language is, however, pure and lovely at its core.

Touch is important, especially to a Physical Touch Love Language. These four tips are what I find matters to me as a Physical Touch love language. These are just my tips. They may not apply to you or your spouse but then again they may.

Verses for Stress: Scripture For Hope & Peace When Stressed & Burdened

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” - Franklin D. Roosevelt

Stress is a heavy burden to bear and I think it weighs on us all often. Life moves so fast and we scramble to balance and juggle it everything while running this crazy life race. Sometimes we get tripped up and trampled over by stress and overwhelm.

Did you know stress triggers you fight or flight reflex just like fear. When we are in a stressful situation and approaching overwhelm we will either fight back, flee and avoid or sometimes just freeze. I am pretty big about just pretending that all stressful things don’t exist. One of y favorite books growing up was called Confession of a Shopaholic. This woman was stressed! She shopped and shopped and then hid all the credit card bills in her freezer. I probably loved her because I identify with her. Bills don’t exist if you can’t see them right?

Anyways here are 10 wonderful Scriptures for Dealing with Stress.

Bitterness, Anxiety and Three Other Things To Get Rid Of Today

We all carry so many things that we just don’t have too. I have some pretty great friends. We were talking yesterday about the things that consume our thought lives and I think it was a rude awakening for us all. The things that consume my thought life are so unproductive and down right destructive. This got me thinking about todays post.

Today I want to talk through several things that we carry around and allow to overtake our thoughts. We are going to look at some things that I think we all need to get rid of right away. These things take our eyes off of Jesus and the abundant full life He has provided for us.
