Bible Verses for Strength

We all have seasons in life where we feel beat down and wore out. Stress sneaks up on you and threatens to overwhelm you while you busy trying to beat worry into submission. Luckily the Bible has tons of verses for when you are needing strength. God is so good. Sometimes we forget that God is our strength. We waste time by wasting our own resources and when we’ve worn ourselves out and gotten in over our heads, God is there to restore and replenish.

How To Trust God

If you have been in church for any period of time or been around Christians, it is likely you will be familiar with this verse:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

This is one of the catchphrase verses that all Sunday school kids memorize. It’s a verse I catch myself quoting but not really thinking about or really even applying. I mean, stop and think about it…Trust in the Lord. Easier memorized than done, right? How can we know that we trust God? How can we be sure that, regardless of what life flings at us, our trust in God will remain steadfast? What even is trust!?!? How can we trust in God?

How To Be Selfless In A Selfie World

It is still crazy to me that the word “selfie” is such a part of our everyday vocabulary. We are living in a selfie world. We have special sticks to help us take them. We have a few incredibly annoying “songs” all about taking them. We have hundreds of apps and filters to make us look better than we really do in them. Most of us have that 4 year old niece or cousin that’s better at taking them than you are. I even saw a celebrity giving a tour of her house and she had a whole section filled with commercial grade lighting and props just for taking her selfies… It’s crazy.

& They Felt No Shame | Nevertheless I Live

Genesis 2:25 and just sobbed. It says, “And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.” After reading that verse I doubt any of you are in tears. That’s okay. Let me explain what this verse did in my spirit when I read it that day. In Genesis 1 we read the creation account and we see that everything was good. Then we read where God made woman from man. Then that last verse, “They were both naked and they were not ashamed.” Spoiler alert! The next chapter of Genesis is where everything changes. Man falls. Sin enters. Shame contaminates everything. So this moment where they were both naked and they were not ashamed is powerful.

Burnout: Scripture for Burnout, Stress & Overwhelm

Whether you are called to missions where you are pursuing the nations for the sake of the gospel or a counselor or pastor/pastor’s spouse loving on hurting people or just a tired caregiver or overworked mama, burnouts can happen. Luckily there is hope in those seasons in God's word. There are verses for burnout. Today I want to share some scriptures for when you are stressed and overwhelmed.

We tend to pursue perfection and excellence in all we do, but in that pursuit it is easy to get distracted and overwhelmed and eventually burned out. Burnout is pure stress and it causes us to be completely drained and exhausted emotionally, physically and mentally.

I want to share one particular passage of scripture that I always run too when I am feeling stressed and burned out. I have also shared this verse with dozens of women struggling with stress, anxiety and depression and have seen it provide help and relief.

Three Things To Give Away This Week

Three Things To Give Away This Week

I’ve said it before and I will say it again…and probably again after that. The answer to the age old question, “How to be happy” lies in servanthood. Do you want to be happy? Do you want a life of joy? I am telling you the way to achieve that is by taking the role of a servant. May sound crazy I know, but there is just something that happens in your heart when you stop focusing on yourself and embrace others. Something happens when we stop worrying about our problems and start trying to be the solutions to others problems. When we step out of our own little worlds and into the other people’s we find purpose. A life with purpose is a happy life.

So with that in mind today I thought we’d discuss giving. Today I am sharing 3 things to give away this week! My goal this week is to remind you that you have something to add to the world!
