Four Things To Tell Yourself Today

It has been a minute since I shared a little #mondaymovtivation with you guys! Lately I have been thinking about all the negative things I tend to think and even sometimes say about myself out of habit. There are so many things we say to ourselves that we could never say to anyone else. If we said to others what we often think about ourselves to ourselves we would be considered abusive and would probably have very few friends.

I am a huge believer that there is immense power in your thought life. That is why Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (ESV) We have to teach ourselves to think on things that are positive, productive & true!

So today I am sharing 4 things I want all of my Christian sisters (& brothers if you are here) to tell yourselves today

10 Songs To Help When You Feel Alone

Hey guys! This week me and a couple of friends went to see Miracles from Heaven & it was so good! One of the main themes of the movie was the fact that we as believers are never alone. God never leaves us. Even when life is hard, His love remains steadfast and unconditional.

One of the greatest lies in my life has been that I am alone. I was battling this crazy lie yesterday and one of my go to methods (when I am tired of wallowing in self pity) is to put on some praise music and change my attitude and atmosphere.

8 Verses You Don’t Know But Totally Should

The Bible is a large book. We have our life verses, our memory verses and our bumper sticker verses that we have heard quoted a hundred and two times throughout our lives. We all have those verses we have heard so many times we can quote them from memory even though we have no idea where they actually are in scripture…or if they’re even in scripture. (Example - Cleanliness is next to godliness. Heard this my whole life. Can quote it. Found out in my late teens it’s not even in the Bible. Anyways, I digress.)

Today I wanted to share a handful of verses that I love but I feel like they could use some more love. These are verses that are awesome (as all scripture is) but we just don’t hear them quoted as often as others and that okay. That makes these like hidden treasures!

How To Grow In God - The Meaning of the Parable of the Sower

Often it seems people are stumped on how to grow and deepen their relationship with God. This is something I tend to struggle with but the truth is that Jesus made it super easy and super clear how to grow and thrive in our relationship with Him and our walk in this life. He even used plants as His example.

Today I wanted to share with you an explanation of the parable of the sower. You can find this parable in Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20 & Luke 8:4-15. I personally think you should go read all of them. I spent years not understanding the meaning of the parable of the sower and just passing over it as I read. My husband got super excited about this story about a year ago and that inspired me to dive in and study it. In this parable Jesus tells a story about a sower who goes out to sow seed. The seed he scatters falls on four different types of soil and each type of soil gets a different result. After the parable Jesus explains what everything means.

Five Phrases Christian Women Need To Stop Saying

I love people. I worked in the helps field for 5 years and I am currently surrounded my ministry so I have experienced women at all stages of Christianity…and lack thereof. Today I want to talk about some Christian “catch phrases” that we have all heard and probably even said at some point in our journey. This post is not to condemn but to start a discussion and to challenge each others perspective.

How To Love More

I don’t know about you guys, but I am pretty good at loving the people that I want to love. I am good at loving the people that matter to me. At least I like to think that I am good at it. If I am being completely honest, my love can be conditional at times. It is hard for me to love you after you’ve hurt me. It’s hard for me to love you when I feel like I can’t trust you. And that’s just with people that are important with me.

People are difficult and they’re messy. Yet we are commanded in scripture to love them. As the church it is our job to reach out and love the unlovely but how can we do this? How can we be more loving to those that matter and those that are difficult?

There is a greater source of love that is available to you! There is the ultimate love! God! He literally IS love and He loves you! We are only able to love each other because He has first loved us!
