My Favorite Christian Quotes

I love quotes you guys! I have collected them for as long as I can remember. I have a journal from when I was 12 years old that is packed full of embarrassing middle schooler quotes. I have a book of far more mature quotes that I add to regularly ever since I saw A Walk to Remember and Jamie’s mom left that quote book for her when she passed. Then Jamie gave it to Landon when she was ill and then Landon gave it back to the dad later. Gosh. Love that that movie.

Anyway, I have a whole volume packed full of quotes I just love and today I want to share some of my absolute favorite quotes. I set out to share ten but then it grew to fifteen and now were up to twenty. These are just some of my favorites.

How To Be A Tremendous Person

Who doesn’t want to be better? A better friend. A better mother, sister, wife. A better daughter, niece, employee? There something in us that makes us want to be better. We are a reflection of a perfect and holy God and as long as we are walking with Him in this life we are always improving. Our character becoming more and more like His.

Today I want to just quickly share something I have been reflecting on lately. What makes a tremendous person tremendous? Tremendous means extremely good or impressive. That’s a huge word nevertheless does someone come to mind when you think of that definition?

Who someone in your life that you think is a tremendous person? What about this person makes them fit this definition in your mind? What is it about this person’s character and behaviors that make them stand out to you?

Verses to Help You Deal with Anger + Tips From a Former Hot-Head

This may come as a shock to you, but I can be a bit of a hot head. My family jokes about the Wallace temper. We’ve passed anger and rage down for generations and it diffidently did not skip over me. I have always said that I just feel everything too much and before Jesus’ sanctifying work in my life, it never took much to send me over the edge.

Life throws all kind of crazy at us ALL the time. If you are anything like me, anger is a quick response to the chaos. One of my biggest hang ups was figuring out what to do with all my anger once it shows up. I am going to share some verses of scripture about anger. I am also going to share some of my favorite tips and tricks for dealing with anger when it shows up.

Four Things To Tell Yourself Today

It has been a minute since I shared a little #mondaymovtivation with you guys! Lately I have been thinking about all the negative things I tend to think and even sometimes say about myself out of habit. There are so many things we say to ourselves that we could never say to anyone else. If we said to others what we often think about ourselves to ourselves we would be considered abusive and would probably have very few friends.

I am a huge believer that there is immense power in your thought life. That is why Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (ESV) We have to teach ourselves to think on things that are positive, productive & true!

So today I am sharing 4 things I want all of my Christian sisters (& brothers if you are here) to tell yourselves today

8 Verses You Don’t Know But Totally Should

The Bible is a large book. We have our life verses, our memory verses and our bumper sticker verses that we have heard quoted a hundred and two times throughout our lives. We all have those verses we have heard so many times we can quote them from memory even though we have no idea where they actually are in scripture…or if they’re even in scripture. (Example - Cleanliness is next to godliness. Heard this my whole life. Can quote it. Found out in my late teens it’s not even in the Bible. Anyways, I digress.)

Today I wanted to share a handful of verses that I love but I feel like they could use some more love. These are verses that are awesome (as all scripture is) but we just don’t hear them quoted as often as others and that okay. That makes these like hidden treasures!

How To Grow In God - The Meaning of the Parable of the Sower

Often it seems people are stumped on how to grow and deepen their relationship with God. This is something I tend to struggle with but the truth is that Jesus made it super easy and super clear how to grow and thrive in our relationship with Him and our walk in this life. He even used plants as His example.

Today I wanted to share with you an explanation of the parable of the sower. You can find this parable in Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20 & Luke 8:4-15. I personally think you should go read all of them. I spent years not understanding the meaning of the parable of the sower and just passing over it as I read. My husband got super excited about this story about a year ago and that inspired me to dive in and study it. In this parable Jesus tells a story about a sower who goes out to sow seed. The seed he scatters falls on four different types of soil and each type of soil gets a different result. After the parable Jesus explains what everything means.
