10 Verses For The Woman Who Feels Like An Outcast

If you’re reading this, we could assume it is because you resonate with the title I chose, so first off, let me just tell you that I feel you. I too have spent much of my life feeling like one of those sad broken toys on the Isle of Misfit Toys from Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer.

School, family, church, work - Regardless of where you are feeling left out, I have good news for you! From one outcast to another! It is this - you can rest my friend in the truth that you always have a place of belonging with the Father!

The Time I Told God No - Bringing Our Questions, Hurts & Doubts To God

I grew up with the understanding that I was never supposed to “question” God. Nevertheless, as I grew in my faith and my relationship with Him, some of my most significant moments of breakthrough have come from moments where He met me at the end of my pretending. My greatest faith moments have come from moments of honesty, where I finally admitted all of the questions, doubts, and fears I had regarding Him.

So know that this story is not one of me in outright rebellion…at least I hope not. Instead, this was a moment of complete broken-hearted tantruming. I hope you’ll read through to the end as I genuinely want to share what this story taught me and what it means for you in your relationship with our Father.

How To Read More Books Yearly When You Are A Busy Mom

I love reading. I wish I could say I had always loved it, but it wasn’t until I was 18 the I discovered the power of books! Sometimes I think back to my single days back before the husband and kids on how much I used to be able to read in a year.

Long gone are the days of staying up all night to finish books. Since my son was born, finding the time to read has been quite a challenge. Nevertheless, I have discovered some great ways to make sure that I am still taking the time to escape into great books.

In fact, I managed to read 30+ books in my first year of motherhood. Which was such a blessing as it helped me to endure the challenges that come along with caring for my first newborn.

So here are the things that made all the difference for this busy mom!

Christmas Worship Music Playlist + Our Favorite Christmas Bible Verses

I love Christmas. I love the Advent season, and it’s sweet reminders that we have a Savior who chose to come down from His throne to be born as a vulnerable baby so that He could eventually pay a price that was too high for us to pay on our own. I love a season dedicated to remembering that Jesus came to make way for us to be adopted and set free from all that would bing us.

I love Christmas. Christmas music is another story. I can be a bit of a scrooge when it comes to Christmas music, especially the classics. They make me sad. I think it is because we lost a beloved grandparent right before Christmas one year growing up, and maybe that just taught my child brain to be melancholy when the classics come on.

I may not be a fan of most classics, but I love worship music. So I combined a list of mostly nontraditional and more modern Christmas worship songs for anyone else who is not as into those old school songs. Even if you love the classics, this might be a nice change to your Christmas music rotation.

(My list does include two classics, but they are beautiful and do not induce feelings of despair.)

I also added some verses that came to mind as I listened to each song.

Does God Give Us More Than We Can Handle? - What To Do When It All Feels Like To Much

All my young adult life, I have heard well-meaning people say things like:  “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” I was always baffled when circumstances came that were way more than I was capable of handling on my own.

When life becomes too much, how do we reconcile that with that familiar phrase?

God won’t give us more than we can handle…right?

Wrong.

There is no verse in Scripture, at least none that I have found, that backs up this common claim.

I am not sure about whether or not God gives you more than you can handle, but I am confident that life indeed hands out more we can deal with in our strength.

So what do we do when life hands us more than we can handle? What do we do when the circumstances are overwhelming us, and we feel like we are drowning in the chaos of our current realities?

Creating A Daily Worship Time - July Worship Playlist & Prayer Guide

I LOVE praise and worship. I am a big believer that your experience with it corporately at church on Sundays is a reflection of your private praise and worship time.

I pick 4 to 5 songs that feel relevant to my current circumstances and create a playlist that I listen to for a few weeks. I love picking songs with truths I struggle to believe or wrap my head around and playing them until I feel like my soul believes the words I am declaring through them.

These playlists are a ongoing series here at A Love Worth Living For.
